Empowering our Children
by Shefari Tsabary, PhD
The time has come for parenting to become what it was always meant to be—about the parent. Dr. Shefali Tsabary details how our children can be raised as conscious adults only when we as parents allow ourselves to be raised into a higher state of consciousness.
Turning the traditional notion of parenting on its head, Dr. Tsabary shifts the epicenter of the parent-child relationship away from the traditional parent-to-child "know it all" approach to a mutual parent-with-child relationship in which the parent learns alongside the child.
This innovative parenting style recognizes the child's potential to spark a deep soul-searching, leading to transformation in parents. Instead of being merely the receiver of the parent's psychological and spiritual legacy, children function as ushers of the parents' development.
Once parents are learning alongside their children, power, control, and dominance become an archaic language. Instead, mutual kinship and spiritual partnership are the focus of the parent-child journey.
Because parents unwittingly pass on an inheritance of psychological pain and emotional shallowness, traditional books on parenting abound with clever techniques for control, together with quick fixes for dysfunctionality.
In contrast, in Dr. Tsabary's conscious approach to parenting, children serve as mirrors of the parent's forgotten self. Once a parent finds their way back to their essence, they enter into communion with their children. Parent and child awaken to the ability to relate in a state of presence.
"THE CONSCIOUS PARENT is a wonderful contribution to a deeper inquiry into what it means to parent well. Bringing body, mind, and spirit all together in a new parental paradigm is essential, and THE CONSCIOUS PARENT helps us get there."
—Marianne Williamson, author of A Return to Love and Age of Miracles
"Move over Dr. Spock! This is the book every parent must have to raise well-adjusted, responsible children. The surprise may be that to accomplish that, the true work at hand will be your own. Face every truth in this wonderful book and enjoy your parenting ride."
—Laura Berman Fortgang, author of The Little Book on Meaning and The Prosperity Plan
